Debi Tracy

Although a professionally college trained dancer, Debi began her yoga practice in 1990 to handle the stress of working a demanding corporate management career. Ten years later when Debi became pregnant transitioning to prenatal yoga was natural step to continue her practice during such an important part of her life. Her daughter was born in the Spring of 2001 and Debi’s life was forever changed! She home birthed a son on Long Island in 2005. Debi has been teaching childbirth education for over 15 years and as a clinically trained hypnotist specializing in women’s health including fertility, pregnancy and postpartum, she was a Representative for OMAEP {World Organisation for Prenatal Education Associations} in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. Shortly after she completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2011, Debi trained with Dorothy Guerra learning the Yoga Birthing Method and with Heather Simonson of The Yoga Womb for her 85-hour certification in Pre-Natal Yoga. She completed her Advanced 300 hour training with Funky Om in the fall of 2016 and has taught birthing and yoga internationally. Her most important credential is, however, her personal experience as having learned prenatal yoga first as an expectant mother with all the fears, feelings, doubts and concerns that one faces when traveling the journey of pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood. Along with being a birth and post partnum doula, Debi is also on staff at South Nassau Communities Hospitals as a member of their Parent-Child Education Department and their Baby-Friendly Multidisciplinary Breastfeeding Steering Committee.

Have the best possible pregnancy and delivery by learning to stretch and strengthen the body, focus and relax the mind, control breathing and develop awareness. Best of all meet a lovely community of pregnant women in your neighborhood! Yoga is a wonderful way to bond with your baby while he/she is in the womb. It also helps you to deal with all the changes happening to your body; this class will help you build the strength necessary during pre- and post- natal months as well as during labor. Practicing yoga will also keep your body agile and help you recover more quickly after the birth.  These sessions are rolling so starting your session of classes at any time is allowed.
