Doreen Garrido

Doreen is a 200-hour Yoga Alliance certified Vinyasa Flow yoga instructor. Her classes are upbeat, fun, and inspirational; they combine the workout of a flow class with techniques that provide relaxation and renewal each time you practice. Doreen believes that the more you relax, the safer, stronger, and more powerful your yoga practice will be. Her study of anatomy & physiology incorporates science into the yoga practice. Her classes create space in the body and the mind, emphasizing breath and alignment, while challenging students to tune in to every corner of their body – and have fun at the same time. She understands that the beauty and strength in each student is revealed on the mat. Everyone has their own individual yoga goals, and Doreen specializes in helping students with fitness goals, while fulfilling themselves with the mental aspects of yoga. Doreen’s classes focus on really connecting with and embracing your own body. She emphasizes taking yoga into your daily life. Students leave class feeling more fit, revitalized in body and mind.

Doreen Garrido instructs the following:
  • Vinyasa Flow All Levels
  • Vinyasa flow classes link breath and movement to create a continuous fluid flow of postures. Vinyasa means “breathe-synchronized movement” and the beauty of this class is that the sequence, or “flow”, can be different in each class, even with the same instructor. Our All Levels classes are open to every one regardless of ability or fitness level. The instructor will modify postures for beginners and increase the challenge for more advanced students.

  • Candlelight Yoga
  • Experience the meditative focus and intensity of practicing yoga in a studio uniquely illuminated by candlelight. Allow the soothing music and soft glow of the candles to allow you to slip away from the stresses and tensions of the week. Improve strength & flexibility, dissolve tension and experience a deep sense of well-being that will support you well after the session is over. Guided by the breath and your own powerful intention, unite mind, body & spirit, and infuse your whole being with life-giving energy. A perfect way to start the weekend. All levels are welcome and encouraged.

  • Vinyasa Flow Level 1
  • Vinyasa flow classes link breath and movement to create a continuous fluid flow of postures. Vinyasa means “breathe-synchronized movement” and the beauty of this class is that the sequence, or “flow”, can be different in each class, even with the same instructor.  Level 1 classes are taught at a slower pace to allow you to experience postures fully and to learn to incorporate modifications appropriate for your abilities and limitations.

  • Community Yoga
  • Our intention is to make yoga available to all who seek it! This class is by donation only. Pay what you like, ALL proceeds will be donated to local charities. Instructors donate their time and will vary weekly.  This is an All Levels class, open to every one regardless of ability or fitness level.  The instructor will modify poses for those with less experience.

  • Shoulder Secrets: The Path to Safe, Strong and Pain-Free Shoulders
  • Experience how you can relieve shoulder and neck discomfort in the yoga poses you already know, as well as some new variations! We will bring more awareness to the yoga postures that you can use to build flexibility and strength in the shoulders and neck.

This workshop addresses the main mistakes most of us make that cause our posture to get out of alignment. You will learn which muscles can cause shoulder tightness and discomfort - and some may surprise you! Experience techniques that you can do at home and at work to improve your neck and shoulders, while building strength and flexibility. This makes your shoulders stronger and more stable.

    • Learn the muscles that most frequently cause shoulder and neck discomfort, and what to do about it.
    • Experience how to use your current yoga practice to keep the shoulders safe, strong and flexible.
    • Practice stretching techniques and other changes you can do at home that create opening and ease in the shoulders and neck to keep the tension away.
