Nicey Berkenfeld

Nicey Berkenfeld, E-RYT 500, received her training from the Long Island Yoga School in Great Neck, New York and has been teaching a vinyasa flow style of yoga since 2008.   With the safety of the students paramount, she guides them through classes that are fun, creative and challenging.  Always seeking to build her own physical practice and to incorporate the teachings of yoga into her daily life, Nicey motivates her students to do the same.

Nicey expands on her yoga education by frequently attending workshops and participating in classes in vinyasa flow, anusara and ashtanga styles.  She is CPR certified with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the Yoga Alliance

Adriene Passannante

Adriene has been a dedicated student of her practice for over 20 years.  After exploring many styles of yoga, she happened upon a class given by Alan Finger at Yoga Zone, and that experience changed her idea of what yoga was all about.  "I loved that ISHTA Yoga was about finding your personal path, and that the asana and meditation techniques were easily accessible to all.  It seemed like a very natural practice for me."  Shortly thereafter, Adriene became the studio manager at Yoga Zone in Old Brookville, and was inspired to teach.  She completed her teaching certification in 2000 under the guidance of Alan Finger.  She continues her studies by frequently attending workshops, classes and intensives taught by well respected teachers in various styles of yoga, bringing an eclectic mix to her classes.  She combines the emphasis of the breath, with a flowing, vinyasa sequence that guides her students to find their edge while honoring themselves and the transformation that yoga can bring.



Lana D'Amico

Lana D'Amico, a former ballet dancer and magazine editor, is a RYT 500 teacher and lululemon athletica yoga ambassador. Lana completed her teacher training with the Long Island Yoga School, where she is now a teacher trainer.  She has been teaching yoga since June 2008. Lana has truly found her passion in this amazing practice and loves to share it with others on the journey. She enjoys taking students "to their edge" and is always seeking new ways to keep her students challenged, safe and excited about yoga. Most recently, she was featured as a model in the book and dvd series, Anatomy of Fitness: Yoga, available on Amazon. In her free time, she enjoys being with her incredible family and friends.

Doreen Garrido

Doreen is a 200-hour Yoga Alliance certified Vinyasa Flow yoga instructor. Her classes are upbeat, fun, and inspirational; they combine the workout of a flow class with techniques that provide relaxation and renewal each time you practice. Doreen believes that the more you relax, the safer, stronger, and more powerful your yoga practice will be. Her study of anatomy & physiology incorporates science into the yoga practice. Her classes create space in the body and the mind, emphasizing breath and alignment, while challenging students to tune in to every corner of their body – and have fun at the same time. She understands that the beauty and strength in each student is revealed on the mat. Everyone has their own individual yoga goals, and Doreen specializes in helping students with fitness goals, while fulfilling themselves with the mental aspects of yoga. Doreen’s classes focus on really connecting with and embracing your own body. She emphasizes taking yoga into your daily life. Students leave class feeling more fit, revitalized in body and mind.

Alie Klein

Alie earned her Master’s degree in Education specializing in School Counseling and has been a school counselor for the past 16 years. Alie was introduced to yoga by a good friend, 9 years ago, who suggested it would be a great stress reliever and she was hooked from her first class!
Alie earned her first yoga certification with Yoga Rocks! Kids in 2008. As her personal practice and passion for yoga grew, Alie pursued her 200 Hour Adult certification with Yogaworks in NYC. Alie is currently earning her 300 Hour advanced teacher certification through Simplicity Yoga in Kings Park, NY. Alie teaches family yoga at Absolute on a seasonal basis and enjoys subbing throughout the year.
Alie loves to see student’s growing in their practice. She feels that everyone is on their own path on (and off) the mat and it is a privilege to be a part of the student’s journey.

Celia Gordon

Celia is a 200 hour Yoga Alliance Certified instructor and has been practicing yoga since 2001. In addition to being a yoga instructor, Celia has been a criminal defense attorney at a prominent law firm in Manhattan for 16 years, has appeared as a legal commentator on Fox News and Court TV, and has been a guest lecturer at various law schools. Over the years, as an extremely busy working mother of three children, Celia found her “need” for yoga consistently increasing. She squeezed yoga into any free time she could scrape together, often taking late evening classes in Manhattan before commuting back to her home on Long Island. She also found herself eagerly sharing the profoundly beneficial effects of yoga with anyone who would listen. Believing that the best teachers are those who never stop learning as students, Celia regularly attends classes, workshops and retreats in various styles of yoga taught by well respected teachers from around the country. She hopes that her deep love of yoga (and the harmonium!) spreads to all those who attend her classes.

Margaret Jennings

Margaret's passion for yoga began more than a decade ago. She holds a Master's Degree in School Psychology and pursued her love of yoga when she retired. Margaret received her 200 hour RYT Certification in Refined Flow at Absolute Yoga. Her enthusiasm extends to the benefits of meditation. Margaret is certified in Meditation and Visual Imagery through the Huntington Meditation and V.I. Center. Her training is a combination of Anusara, which is based on bio-mechanical principals, blended with the breath and movement of Prana Flow. She continues to study Anatomy, Therapeutics and the emotional benefits of Yoga and Meditation. As a dedicated practitioner, Margaret views her practice as a way of life and one of the best ways to balance spiritual, emotional and physical healing. Within the framework of joyful exploration, she creates an environment for her students which promotes self discovery, curiosity, strength and peace. She is blessed to be loved and supported by her teachers and her wonderful family, Kevin, Kyle, Katie and Colleen.

Anne Davidson

Anne took her first yoga class just over 5 years ago and has not stopped practicing since! She received her 200 hour Yoga Alliance certification through Absolute Yoga's Refined Flow program.  Anne's classes are designed to give each student a personal connection to the practice and a safe space for whatever needs to come their way.  Her classes embody a combination of Anusara and Prana Flow, allowing students to open theirs heart as they flow through a moving meditation focused on breath awareness.  Anne also received her Kids Yoga certification through YogiBeans.  Anne is a full time 3rd grade ESL teacher for the New York City schools who applies the principles of yoga so that her students can share a part of what she love.

Elyce Neuhauser

A dedicated yogini for over 20 years and teaching since 2006, Elyce Neuhauser, an ERYT-500, is passionate about sharing the living practice of yoga.  Through Prana Vinyasa, a style developed by her main teacher, global adventurer Shiva Rea.  Elyce is known for her poetic and devotional style of yoga that encourages self reflection and acceptance, connection to the heart and to each other, while cultivating deeper physical strength.  In addition to teaching classes both in the studio and at festivals, she also leads 200 and 300 hour level teacher trainings, workshops and retreats.  Since 2009 Elyce has been teaching yoga and ecstatic dance at the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies in Rhinebeck, NY.  Elyce believes that yoga is a lifelong practice both on and off the mat and she continues to study with and assist her teachers, including Tantric meditation teacher, Lorin Roche, author of the Radiance Sutras. 
Vinyasa flow classes link breath and movement to create a continuous fluid flow of postures. Vinyasa means “breathe-synchronized movement” and the beauty of this class is that the sequence, or “flow”, can be different in each class, even with the same instructor. Our All Levels classes are open to every one regardless of ability or fitness level. The instructor will modify postures for beginners and increase the challenge for more advanced students.
